Spoiler alert - we are all innately intuitive...
In our modern, fast-paced urban lives, it's easy to become disconnected from our innate intuition—the deep-seated inner knowing that once guided us effortlessly. As we navigate societal expectations and external pressures, we lose touch with this essential aspect of ourselves. Rekindling our intuitive abilities is crucial for leading a life that is both authentic and aligned with our true selves.
Have you ever seen a newborn settle instantly in their mother’s arms with nothing but minimal sight, an acute sense of smell, and this innate knowing? We were all those tiny little humans with no structured way to process the information around us except by relying on an innate knowledge. You can’t learn that instinct, but you can unlearn it.
As we grow, we learn to translate our inner world into the boxes language provides. We shape our expression and actions to align with often hard-learned social cues and, eventually, allow the to-dos of tomorrow to capture our mindshare. The constant focus upon the outside world draws our attention and focus to the extend that we begin to view everything, including ourselves through this external lense. The deep knowledge and connection to ourselves, which we need to access our intutition, begins to weaken to a barely audiable whisper.

Why is innate intuition so important?
You can, and probably have, survived up to this point with limited access to your innate intuition—beyond perhaps the ‘odd gut feeling,’ whether you listened to it or not. But your intuition enables you to feel into what works and will work best for you. The you beyond social frameworks, familiar expectations, and the walls you’ve put up to keep yourself safe.
Your intuition comes from a place inside that knows you intimately—outside of social frameworks and expectations. Leaning into your intuition gives you the ability to uniquely analyse and make decisions about people, situations, and events based not only on how they will impact you, but also where they will lead you. Leaning only on our logic, which has been conditioned for the major part by the society and its expectations, places us up for success in what society deems successful, not your individual success.
Think of us all on a life journey—each on a different road
Depending on the society within which we are influenced to guide us, we tend to analyse and base our decisions on a pre-made framework. While the same events, people, and situations can appear for multiple people, there is no blueprint for 'the right choice' or reaction because there has never been anyone like us before, and there never will be again.
Intuition is what guides you in knowing whether the event, person, or situation that crosses your path will be beneficial for you and your life journey or not.
Can you relearn to access your intuition?
We can’t rewind, nor should we—our adaptability skills have, for the most part, brought us survival, if not success. But we can reconnect to ourselves and our intuition.
Step 1: Reconnect to ourselves and our unique blueprint
After years of working within societal frameworks the canvas we are working from has been thoroughtly painted that we can't always see the original sketch. Intuition will help with the day to day, but for your intuition to operate at its full strength - it needs the support of someone who can truly see themselves, understand their full potential and has accepted their unique skills.
This is one of the key reasons why tools such as Astrology and Human Design are so valuable. They give us a way to look at 'the raw material'. Being able to gaze at a map of you in your full totality, a blueprint for your optimal growth, the skills innate to you and how you energetically can operate at your best is priceless. It gives you the ability to glance at that original sketch on your life's canvas before expectations and experiences began spray painting it. It also enables your intuition to work at its best.
Step 2: Sharpen our intuitive skills
Practice reducing external noise: Engage in activities like meditation, yoga, or journaling to quiet the mind and create space for inner awareness. These practices help you tune into subtle signals from your subconscious, enhancing your intuitive capabilities.
Create space for stillness: In decision-making moments, take a brief pause to assess your immediate feelings before rational analysis. This allows your intuition to surface, offering insights that might not be immediately evident through logical reasoning alone.
Embrace Solitude: Spend time alone to disconnect from external noise and reconnect with your inner voice. Solitude provides the clarity needed to distinguish between external expectations and your authentic desires.
Recognise bodily sensations: Pay attention to bodily sensations, as they often reflect intuitive signals. A sense of ease or discomfort in your body can provide valuable clues about the choices you face.
Seek Supportive Communities: Engage with groups or individuals who encourage intuitive development and self-exploration. Sharing experiences with like-minded individuals can validate your intuitive insights and foster growth.
The Power of Bringing Together the Internal and External Worlds
It will be pure chance that you arrive, intact, having lived in alignment to you self if by operating through 100% fact-driven decision-making. However living 100% based on intuition alone also has its limitations. You need a healthy balance of intuition and fact grounded in the solid understanding of your unique blueprint.
Think of intuition as your internal compass, providing guidance that logic alone may not be able to. Facts and external knowledge provide structure, but intuition ensures that structure is aligned with your personal truth and your unique path here. The magic happens when you integrate both, using logic to inform your decisions, allowing intuition to guide their direction with a clear view of what makes you, you.
By consciously reconnecting with who you are and your innate intuition, you empower yourself to navigate life’s complexities with greater authenticity and deeper alignment to your unique journey.Â
